Ross Staffing Solutions
Ross Staffing Solutions provides a variety of employment services, including placement and recruitment for executive, management, and professional positions.
The company also offers human resources training to help new businesses develop employee handbooks, procedures and policies, compensation analysis, and other foundational elements. Employers who are downsizing can use Ross Staffing Solution’s outplacement program to provide career counseling, resume writing workshops, and networking tips to former employees.
When Jamie Ross’ employer downsized in 2008, he voluntarily resigned and decided to use his years of human resources and management experience to expand the staffing company he started a year earlier on a part-time basis.
To expand his growing business and hire another full-time employee, Jamie Ross applied for a loan through Bridgeway Capital. The loan provided the staffing agency with the personnel and resources necessary to keep it competitive with other established staffing agencies.
In 2010, Ross hired Karen Werner, an HR professional with a wealth of industry experience and knowledge. Ross said Werner’s expertise is helping him keep up with demand and focus on growth. The staffing agency is now able to offer better customer service and more timely results, helping companies quickly fill management positions with the right people.
“My business model is a little different than other models, ” Ross said. “I’m focused on relationships and partnerships, not necessarily volume. For me, it’s not always about the numbers. It’s about establishing a good client base and repeat customers.”
The two-person team is expected to increase revenue by 57 percent in three years.
“Having the support from Bridgeway Capital enabled me to take some calculated risks, ” Ross said. “Hiring a second employee has made my business healthier and better able to deal with demand, which will ultimately lead to growth.
- Two full-time jobs were created.
- The addition of a second employee will allow the business to place more individuals in executive and other positions.
